Preetz is considered the gateway to Holstein Switzerland. Embedded in a wonderful landscape with fields, forests and many lakes, you will find a small town idyll, embedded in an interesting natural landscape.

Numerous hiking trails open up inner-city parks and connect them to the surrounding area.
The Wehrberg is a park that was created in 1918 by the Lübeck garden architect Harry Maasz. It is best to walk through the Wehrbergallee with the large linden trees and at the end of the residential area turn left towards the Wehrberg Pavilion.
The pavilion offers a wonderful view over the Kirchsee. On the left the residential area "An der Bergbrauerei", in the background the town church, the Kirchsee, on the right with the camping site and the canoe rental. Further to the right across the Schwentine, you will see the neighboring village of Schellhorn.

There is an impressive memorial on top of the mountain. It consists of a centrally arranged stone with an inscription, bordered by eight columns, which bear the names of the dead and missing from World War I.
The columns are connected with a wooden frame in a circle.
Next to the complex is a stone with an inscription to commemorate all victims of the Second World War.

From the Wehrberg you have beautiful views of the Schwentine and the Lanker See.

Very well-kept green area not far from the town center.
