The Stauferzeitliche castle Breuberg is a well-preserved gem with over 850 years, varied history. It was Vogteiburg and residence of royal princely families. In modern times, the seat of a toy factory, district office and during the Second World War accommodation for forced laborers. Today, the castle has a youth hostel, Burgschänke and the Breuberg Museum.

The keep (25 m high) with its humpback brickwork is the oldest structure of Breuberg Castle. As a "reward", climbing the tower offers an impressive picture of the size of the castle complex and a good view of the former rulership of Breuberg and far beyond (Taunus, Spessart, Neunkircher Höhe).
