The Rochlitz porphyry is a frost-resistant, red volcanic rock. It is interesting that this rock has different degrees of hardness. Here at the former millstone quarry, the hardest variant was broken out of the Rochlitzer Berg. As the name of the place suggests, this type of rock was used to make millstones.
