The Dachstein shoulder ascent is a well-established via ferrata, which leads to the Randkulftanstieg over which one reaches the summit of the Hohe Dachstein. If one chooses the shoulder rise on the high Dachstein, one does not have to ascend over the steep glacier piece to the Randkluft. The start of the shoulder ascent is located directly on the glacier near the Seetalerhütte. Please always pay attention to gaps on the glacier. The path is not secured with a steel cable throughout. Both the rise of the shoulder and the edge of the ridge reach the level of difficulty B.
