The Karl May Birthplace is open Tuesday through Sunday from 10am to 5pm.
March 11, 2016
Since 1985, his birthplace, which is only 4.25 m wide, has housed a museum whose exhibition traces the life and work of the writer. In the weaver's room, a reconstructed living and working room on the first floor of the approximately 330-year-old house, visitors can get an idea of the poor conditions in which Karl May grew up. Additional exhibition space is available in the new functional extension, which will open in mid-2022. His works and their main themes are presented there in a modern way.
