Always the first stage on my favorite island:
Since 1891 there were successively four different investors on the East Frisian island Spiekeroog, over which the ferry traffic between the mainland and the island was handled. They were built after destruction or wear by storm surge or ice drift always in the same place at the southern tip of the island. From the investor the Spiekerooger island railway to the island village of Spiekeroog. Since 1981, there is a local port south of the village, so that the island railway and investors are no longer necessary and were abandoned.
