Mountaineering Highlight
We were right after a snowstorm in early August at the Berliner Hütte. We have just hiked over the Schönbichler Horn and have been more than happy to come to the warm room. The cabin is impressive, it feels like being transported back in time. A grand hotel of yesteryear and still beautiful. The place where the hut stands is in any case a madness, the view of the glaciers, through the green valley, the surrounding three-thousanders, simply breathtaking. Inside everything is dark paneled, the rooms are high and somehow splendid, very noble. The food is really delicious. After the long hike, the Kaiserschmarrn was perhaps even the best I have ever eaten. Here you can stay and enjoy your time.
All information about the Berliner Hütte, which of course is also a base of the Berlin Höhenweg, can be found here: berlinerhütte.at

Built in 1879, the oldest refuge in the Zillertal Alps.

The Berliner Hütte is a listed building and is a truly princely Alpine retreat. Best food combines with quaint 19th century luxury. Particularly interesting is the glacier-shaped environment of the hut. You can experience this close up if you hike the Berliner Hütte on the trail of the same name from Schönbichler Horn.

The most beautiful hut in the Zillertal, rightly listed.

Hut great, people super nice (as actually on all cabins here), food great, almost hotel character here.

Very nice hut to reach on a pleasant path. Great view of the heights of the Zillertal Alps.

THE historic hut, of course, is not the classic hut feeling but a very impressive architecture and you should definitely have seen it.
We had a great two-bed room which ensures a very relaxing sleep.
Super modern washrooms and drying room with shoe warmers - great if it rained a lot.

The hut is unbelievably impressive, but due to its size it is more of a mountain hotel than a cozy mountain hut. An interesting concept we experienced when reserving our room camp: we found ourselves in rooms with a bed and a mattress on the floor again!
There was plenty of room for our backpacks in the two-room camp. The house is extremely noisy, the old floorboards creak what it takes. Sensitive natures should therefore not forget on earplugs in the two-person camp :) The large number of people you have to like, but there is also plenty of room. The cottage is definitely a terrific experience and well worth a visit!
