Wolva Castle, or popularly known as Schlößle, was probably built by the lords of Wolfach in the 11th century.
The property went to the Counts of Fürstenberg by marriage in the 13th century. The castle itself probably fell victim to the Thirty Years' War.

In the 1970s, the Black Forest Association exposed the remains of the castle and saved it from further decay.

Small castle ruins above Wolfach. Some foundation walls have been very well restored. The view of Wolfach and Oberwolfach is worth the steep climb. The ruin is popularly called "Schlössle".
