A somewhat sinister place between Bassum and Harpstedt: The bunker ruin of the "Großwolveldel telecommunications system". The military large-scale transmission system, with the u.a. U-boats were to be called, was built from 1939 to 1941, but never completed.

relikte.comIn the Schweinsheide between Bassum and Harpstedt, a telecommunications system for the military communication of the Wehrmacht was to be built on behalf of the Deutsche Reichspost. A total of three radio towers were planned to be built on massive bunkers. Construction began around 1939. However, since the need for the radio system was no longer considered important, the project was finally stopped in September 1941. Only one of the bunkers had been completed by then, but the technical facilities were no longer installed. The other two towers were only completed up to the floor slab.
