The term "little church" is actually an understatement, because the building at 1,796 meters is quite impressive and can be seen from afar. Emperor Franz Joseph had it built for his Elisabeth. The church was completed in 1901 and the star mosaic in the dome is particularly beautiful.

From below or from far you can recognize the Schneeberg by the Zipferl of the Elisabethkirchlein. Recently even seen the Schneeberg from WABI Beauty Center in Sopron Hungary.

Erected 1899 to 1901 at 1800 m. Altitude. Consecrated in memory of Empress Elisabeth of Austria who was murdered in 1898 and St. Elisabeth.
