"We are here at station 59 of a total of 61 stations on the Royal Prussian Optical Telegraph Line between Koblenz and Berlin! Crazy, but this is actually how messages were transmitted to and from Berlin between 1833 and 1852. According to the information board, in good weather, a message could be transmitted within 1.5 hours—unbelievable but true. Unfortunately, not even the foundations of the original structure remain, what a pity."
