The great jump of the horse from the rock (Hexentanzplatz) over the valley to the other rock (Rosstrappe), so that the princess Brunhilde could get to safety from the giant Bodo. When the horse's hoof hit the rock, this hoof print was created and so the 403m high granite rock was given the name "Rosstrappe".

According to the legend of the Rosstrappe, this hoof print was made when Princess Brunhilde jumped from the witch dance place to the Rosstrappe with her horse. She was on the run from Knight Bodo, who fell into the Bode during this jump.
