Mountain biking
Gemünden Castle was first mentioned in the 13th century. At that time it was owned by the noble family of Sponheim. During this time, the Sponheimers built a veritable line of fortifications from the Nahe to the Moselle. A secure and complete history of the castle is only possible from 1514. At that time, Fritz von Schmidtburg acquired the palace complex from the Duke in Simmern and the Elector Ludwig von der Pfalz.

The castle is wildly romantic in the Hunsrück surrounded by forests. It is privately owned and cannot be visited freely.
For events, especially for weddings, the castle can be rented as a beautiful location.
