Frigiliana is a typical Andalusian village. It is a charming white village with sloping, narrow streets and white-painted houses. The old Moorish city center, also known as "Barribarto", takes you back to the time when the Moors held sway. It is considered one of the best preserved historic city centers in the province of Málaga and because of this it was officially declared a national heritage site in 2014 and awarded the title "Conjunto Histórico-Arstístico". The hill climb is an impressive walking route of about 7 km.
