Valley Stream Crossing Near Englishcombe

A great way to get from one side of the valley to the other, take this track from Englishcombe. It's not marked as a public right of way but obviously well used, and footpaths branch off of it into the fields. A steep and narrow descent is followed by the same on the other side, perhaps more rideable. Then you'll enjoy a short stint down the lane (public right of way) before joining the byway alongside the stream (look out for wading cows on a hot day) followed by some dusty doubletrack.

The descent coming from the south towards Bath is steep, but doable on a gravel bike. And the climb on the other side (more towards Bath) with a lot of strength and agility also to do with. And you can choose: either cycle through the stream or via the railing and lift your bike. All fun!
