The Leopold Reitz path (Sonnenweg) from the Dr. Welsch terrace in Neustadt Haardt to Wolfburg offers a wonderful view over Neustadt's old town. It is bordered by small-scale, terraced gardens (many also with beehives) and vineyards.
And as the name implies, it succumbs to most of the day in the sun, if it appears.

This Mediterranean park and viewing terrace with exotic trees, cacti and Mediterranean plants is named after Dr. Theodor Welsch (1842 - 1909) named, the prot. was pastor of Neustadt-Haardt. He "fulfilled his dream of an exotic garden here" and bequeathed it to the city in 1906.
