Here I can find peace and tranquility away from the public traffic of Wutach. Wildly romantic it is, again and again you cross the Lotenbach, over boulders over stairs and look at cascades over which the brook runs playfully in the direction of Wutach.

The path is secured with bridges and boardwalks, but sure-footedness and sturdy footwear are still required.

Great start for every Wutachschlucht hike! The hiking bus stops directly at the somewhat hidden entrance of the Lotenbachklamm ...

The narrow Lotenbachklamm attracts you after a few steps in its spell. In partial shade light green mosses and ferns thrive, the brook gushes wildly and falls down several steps towards Wutach and wherever you look you can see a tangle of granite boulders, fallen tree trunks, rotting and covered with lichen. Gnarled, mossy branches stick out from the forest fur like spindly fingers. The Lotenbachklamm is a 1.5 km long branch of the Wutachschlucht. Bridges, stairs and narrow paths open up the gorge and are an adventure in themselves.

This great hike first leads through the Wutachschlucht and then through the Lotenbachklamm.

The tour is also suitable for families with children. But then you should also plan more time.
There is so much to discover ....

After a fortification in the shadow mill, it continues into the Lotenbachklamm. On a narrow well secured path it's always uphill ....

Unfortunately, the car from the end of the Lotenbachklamm only on the L170 (about 2.5 km) without a walk or similar paths downhill to reach, which is not really so nice.

But the whole experience beforehand compensates for this circumstance ...

Very beautiful gorge with a few traumhafen waterfalls - you climbed up the side of it via stairs (or down) - since the gorge is only about 1-2km long, it can be combined with the Wutachschlucht.

Absolute recommendation. If you should run stage 2 (officially this ends at the mill), necessarily the 1.5 km run. !

Very well suited for adventurous children. Sowol above as well as below is a parking lot and when the little ones can no longer, dad or mom can quickly run up and get the car at the bottom is the Schattenmphle with restaurant and playground.

For me one of the most beautiful sections of the region. Unfortunately not directly part of the Schluchtensteig, but a detour is definitely worth it! The short gorge with the steep slopes is also on sunny days in the twilight. The mood there is indescribable!
