The Sorraria wild horses Delia, Estrella and Conquestador are on loan from the bison enclosure Springe. The horses are supposed to bite into larger vegetation here in the Liekwegen quarry and thus leave the area in this barren environment, which is home to many rare animals and plants.

In 2010, the "Liekwegen Quarry" was declared a nature reserve by the district of Schaumburg.
