A tour completely and fully as we love it! Except for the ascent and descent, we walk exclusively on narrow paths through the middle of the sunny autumn forest and across meadows. Here we have the impression that we are on a deer crossing path. The views from the White Stone and near the Barenburg reach as far as the Brocken and Hanover almost to our front door. And at the Weißen Stein a great summit box surprises with a summit book, in which we naturally register, and binoculars with which the Marienburg and the church of Elze can be seen. And the Barenburg, i.e. the sign with the story on it, stimulates the imagination. Only the access to the narrow path of the S1 was a bit difficult to find, as the access was broken up by forest vehicles and we had to search a bit to find it. We turned a little extra dangling with a fairly steep ascent through the middle of the forest and without a path. Never mind We still forgive our four hearts.

The Kyritz Ruppiner Heide is Germany's largest contiguous heathland and yet hardly known among tourists, because when you think of Heide you usually first think of the Lüneburg Heath. The Kyritz Ruppiner Heide is better known as the Bombodrom - Wittstocker military training area with bomb deployment exercises. The Soviets have been stationed and bombed here for 40 years, and even detonated medium-range missiles have been found in the sand. After the fall of the Berlin Wall, the Bundeswehr saw its chance for bomb exercises here, but a 17-year-old !!! Peaceful protest ultimately led to the Bundeswehr abandoning the site. Since 2009 peaceful tourist use in the beginning, but every square meter of sand and heather has to be laboriously demunitioned. This is financed and promoted by the Sielmann Foundation, so that rest areas and great information boards and, above all, the 15m high observation tower were created. The heather could spread here, as all other vegetation was simply bombed away and left sandy soil. And heather seeds germinate on sandy soil even when there is little moisture. Pioneering plants, followed by pine and birch. The heather is preserved here by slash and burn destroying all larger vegetation or trees being felled every 10-15 years. After the slash and burn, the heather grows all the more luxuriant. And so we walked through really bold, lush heather meadows and through very lightly green areas of fire from the slash and burn last winter. So what, the highlight of the children were the draft horses of a resting carriage ride and the wolf tracks.

Double kayaks with foot controls and an inwardly drawn outer wall are our hit. Wonderful straight ride and nothing drips from the paddle on your legs. 😁😎👍🏻 With a tail wind and a sturdy umbrella as a sail, we let ourselves be pulled across the lake and curl up with joy. 😀😃😄😂 We rest in the harbor village and at the end drive with - oops - quite a lot of gusts of wind and suddenly high waves in front of the Rheinsberg Castle. So far so good!?! With the gusts, we first decide to have coffee and cake and calculate that 9 p.m. would also be a perfect time to get home. After all, we have to go back against the wind somehow. I feel uncomfortable. Can you capsize in the waves? 😵 My stomach is appeased with cake and we get into the kayaks with rain trousers and rain jackets on. And my head is still checking the wind - slowly easing from 5 p.m. Ok, we're looking to be close to the shore and where that doesn't work, we fight against wind and spray and waves and curse over even more waves making motorboats. Fortunately, there is a break from the wind in the canals and in the third lake it is still whistling, but the waves are slacking off a lot. Yes, and what can I say, after 1.5 hours of steep travel we trulled into the port. 😳 And at 7:30 p.m. the spagghetti are on the table. 😄😂😅 Beginners who we are. 🙈🙉🙊

And since the rain is so reliable this summer ... we go hiking on the moor adventure trail around the Roofensee, find out about 3 of 5 stations, eat blueberries and blackberries, observe all kinds of animals, remove a tick and find nothing on it traversed shortcut path tasty mushrooms that were enough for 8 fork bites.Despite the short cut, we ran 13.5km, which komoot told us and we could feel the little one in our legs and on the "I'm not in the mood anymore". The path is shown for 12km. 😳 🤔And some of the photos are thrown back and forth. 😝naturparkhaus.de/naturparkhaus/moorerlebnispfadgoogle.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://www.stechlin-ruppiner-land-naturpark.de/fileadmin/user_upload/PDF/Stechlin-Ruppin/F_Moorlehrpfad__Druck2014.indd_X- 1a.pdf & ved = 2ahUKEwiHz6nmxMXyAhVTSPEDHbdaBEkQFnoECCUQAQ & usg = AOvVaw3kaKsSaH2GktpoUc5Sm8BM

The paddling tour takes about 20km through the Rheinsberger Rhin Nature Park on the meandering Rhin. We mainly experience the jungle with many alders on the bank and beeches and pines, and we see a few spruce skeletons. In places, narrow reed beds line the bank and we have to put the paddles vertically into the water to avoid getting stuck. We see a nutria cave entrance and kingfisher cave entrances on the sandy bank edges. Small yellow-breasted birds, probably wilts, watch us again and again and we see a lot of large, blue dragonflies. There is no time to shoot photos, we have to keep circling around tree trunks that have fallen into the water. The nature park administration clears only what is minimally necessary for kayak traffic. A tree trunk lies so across that we push the canoe through it in a very narrow place while we climb over the trunk ourselves. We are more manoeuvrable with a kayak than with a Canadian and driving long distances in a straight line is definitely not an option today. Conclusion: The jungle feeling, varied and demanding is at least 10 out of 10 points.

A landscape garden hike beginning at Rheinsberg Castle with its baroque garden, moving into an English landscape garden and ending in the Broberow beech forest along the three lakes Grienericksee, Rheinsberger See and Böbereckensee to Warenthin. According to the recommendation of our apartment landlord, there is the Mischke guesthouse and lodging facility for a stop. Should be very tasty, especially the fish dishes - we were out on Wed and therefore on the rest day.Frederick the Great had his happiest years in Rheinsberg Palace and implemented his first ideas for palace and garden design, which he then completed in Potsdam's Sanssouci Park. In 1744 he gave the Rheinsberg property to his brother Heinrich, who was interested in art and who lived here for 50 years and turned the palace and garden into a cultural meeting place. Under his ideas, part of the nearby forest and the surrounding fields were transformed into a landscape garden. He had staffage structures built, such as the obelisk in honor of officers of the Silesian Wars, the Malesherbes column, grottos, ruins and catacombs, and viewing corridors in the forest, of course to the Rheinsberg Castle and these staffage structures. The Broberow forest has regained a lot, some is still standing today and sometimes looks a bit bizarre, as if it were taken from an adventure computer game.Theodor Fontane and Kurt Tucholsky later walked through the garden landscapes and described Rheinsberg and its garden landscape in 'Walks through the Mark Brandenburg' and in 'Rheinsberg: Picture Book for Love', which led to the dedication of a walkway through the landscape garden as a poet's path. And p.We thank Sabine for the tip!

Our first kayak tour in one of those wide, unsinkable 'bathtubs'. We still get wet to the bone because the lake water puts our paddles on our pants. And somehow it's neither dry nor straight. 😳😅😂 After 5km there is the 'Gutenmorgen' restaurant for refreshment and a relaxed spot on the nearby beach for a long break. Now the pants are hanging on the line and we are 10km in our arms. 💪🏻🐱 The last photo (unfortunately all photos are included in the transparent cover) is a wakeboard - water ski without a boat and rope.

The heather is just beginning to bloom and we meet up with friends for a hike on the 8 km long section of the heather panorama path. As can be seen on the hiking map, the heather sections are very narrow and the path leads right through the middle. In many places there are small information boards with brief information about the wolf in the heather, the flora and fauna, the beehives, Pastor Harms, the Tiefental, etc. There are still a few last blueberries, the cranberries are ripe and we can also find a few early blackberries. Snack tour!
