Entering the boardwalks of the Gorges du Durnand (or "Durnand Gorge"), you are in another world. A wild world of imposing cliffs and a powerful stream of wild torrent. For one kilometer you follow the wooden footbridge along the vertical wall of stone, through tunnels, over stairs and galleries, and are almost overwhelmed by the forces of nature when the water shoots over 14 steps in the valley of the Dranse.

Opening hours: May 1 to October 31, 9am to 6pm
Admission: adults 8 CHF, children (6 to 15 years) 5 CHF

The section of the roof on the first section is now bypassed by two suspension bridges on the opposite rock.

        French:
Built in 1877, completely renovated in 1987, the Durnand Gorges offer a breathtaking spectacle which has earned them the distinction of being ranked among the ten most beautiful in Europe.
Located in the town of Bovernier, the visible part of the Gorges du Durnand extends for approximately 1 kilometer. It is accessed by a small path which suddenly transforms into a route of suspended wooden footbridges and stairs (330 steps in total).
Under his feet, the water of the Durnand rolls, bubbles, swirls, bouncing with a crash in a succession of 14 waterfalls, each more impressive than the last.
