Hiking Highlight (Segment)
With loud thunder and roar, the water rushes into the washed-out cauldron, while it gurgles and lathers constantly. The entire meltwater of the Jungfrau Glacier flows through here, up to 20,000 liters of water per second. The Trümmelbach Falls are considered the largest underground waterfalls in Europe. They are located in the Lauterbrunnen Valley, the "valley of 72 waterfalls".
Of all underground waterfalls worldwide, the Trümmelbach Falls are the only ones that are accessible. Lifts, galleries, tunnels and platforms are part of the way.
