One of the special rock formations that can be discovered at Waldstein: a mighty, upwardly expanding boulder with an oval plate, the legendary Devil's Table. According to legend, the devil played a wild card game with goblins here.

Hiking

At the castle gate of the former Waldstein Fortress there is an oval boulder with deep holes in it. According to legend, the devil played cards with goblins and ghosts, they were made of iron. However, what is more real is that the holes originate from a kind of pavilion that was removed in the 19th century. The only evidence of this can be found in a work by the engraver Gerd Könitzer.

Mountain biking

At the entrance to the castle ruin, the devil's table stands on the forest stone. According to legend, the devil played cards with goblins and ghosts here. They hit the plate so violently with the bronze cards that the cards clinked and sparked. Today you can still see the impressions of the iron maps on the rock slab. In another legend it was the file maker from Weißdorf, a powerful ghost banner, and the devil.
