In WWII, English bombers dropped their bombs here on their way back to England. They did this because they sometimes had to turn around prematurely due to bad weather and were too vulnerable with the heavy freight.

Hiking

This bomb crater was created during the Second World War. The English bombers only had limited fuel on board and if they could not reach Germany they dropped the bombs and this also created this bomb crater. Most of the bombs ended up in the Ijsselmeer.
