I found it so strange that I couldn't find anything about a 'Bels lijntje' (little Belgian line), but I did come across this on stationsweb.nl: "Valkenswaard once had a second station, I think from 1965 to about 1985. In an attempt to maintain the rail connection from Belgium, the line was then diverted from the south of Valkenswaard and reconnected to the main line at Geldrop. So it really was a railway in the past."

The cycle path runs over an old railway line. Very straight but not bored by the beautiful surroundings. Please note the path is not lit all day only in the early morning and evening
