The Romanesque village church was probably built around 1150 to 1200 from heavy porphyry rock and boulders. It belongs to the parish area of Sandersdorf.
In 2007 and 2008 the exterior of the village church was completely restored according to historical models. All roofs were re-roofed, all parts of the facade were plastered with new stone, the tower was crowned with two sandstone crosses, the foundation was drained, the pathways redesigned and six acoustic hatches fitted into the tower. The church wall was repaired in 2001.
