SPRING AWAKENING:
From May, at the crossroads of the Mühlsteinweg, near the rest area at the Pappelbusch, it is worth taking a detour southwards along the Dornröschenweg towards Roitzscher Grube. The "Sleeping Beauty", the wild hedge rose or heather rose, is scattered all along the way. The thorny, silvery narrow-leaved oleaster, the hawthorn and the locust tree are also wonderful to look at during the flowering period. You can feel, see and smell the approaching summer. From late summer, at the crossroads to the north on the Sanddornweg, you can see the bright orange berries of the sea buckthorn bush, another member of the oleaster family, at the end of the Pappelbusch. If you are not afraid of the thorns and are not put off by the sour taste, you can get your vitamin C from the 🍋 lemon of the north when it is ripe.Red kites in the Pappelbusch on the cycle path!
