To the south of the castle is a starway with the Chinese fountain in the middle. The fountain's water basin has a diameter of eleven meters and a fountain that is up to ten meters high. Because of the wide spread of water associated with it, it is only operated up to a maximum height of seven meters today. Sculptures in East Asian style frame the fountain. They represent mandarins, samurais, Buddhas, but also simple farmers. They were made between 1910 and 1914 by the sculptor Reicks from Lüdinghausen and have been in their current location since 1972. They used to line the swan pond.

Accessible all year round with plenty of seating to rest. The Chinese fountain is only in operation during the summer months due to the weather.
