The ravine dug deep into the red sandstone over the centuries. It is assumed that carters preferred to use this narrow and uneven path instead of the parallel "Fürstenweg" because it was more stable. Because nothing was more annoying and dangerous than a cart stuck in a ravine. Hard to imagine how the carts rumbled along the steep and narrow path.
