The history of the Gamig manor can be traced back to the 15th century. However, it was probably built much earlier by the burgraves of Dohna as an outpost to protect the region. Today it is a rehabilitation and meeting place for mentally ill people.

Gamig was first mentioned in a document in 1411. It was a fortified knight's seat, surrounded by a curtain wall with watchtowers and loopholes. The current appearance of the castle was mainly created in the 16th, 18th and 19th centuries. In the course of the land reform in 1946, the estate was not divided up, but transferred to a public estate. The owner family, expropriated in 1945, gave up without compensation in 1991 in favor of a non-profit association. Today the manor is a rehabilitation facility for chronically mentally ill people.
