Old Railway Embankment Cycle Path Weißig–Wünschendorf

The old railway embankment of the Weißig-Bühlau - Dürrröhrsdorf railway line operated from 1908 to 1951.
The route along the Old Railway Embankment, which is almost flat due to the typical railway parameters, which is signposted in Dresden as the "Schönfeld Highland Cycle Path", leads from the Dresdner Heide to the city limits in Wünschendorf (highlighted here) and on to Porschendorf and Dürrröhrsdorf.
Information boards along the route provide an insight into the eventful history of the railway route.
The former train stations and stops have received their station signs back. Hiking rest areas invite you to linger. Along the route there are typical railway signs and accessories to explore.

For cycling, the bike path is very well suited. Mostly asphalted ... in between, however, there are cobblestones that are less pleasant for narrow and hard-inflated tires.
