The Kreuzkapelle stands on the Alb plateau - visible north of Wiesensteig. In 1626 the Countess von Helfenstein donated the crucifix and had it erected.In 1825 a chapel was built for this purpose from the citizens' collections. A footpath leads through Buchenwald to the chapel, which is lined with stations of the cross.
