From the vernacular, all paths with a certain characteristic (with cart irons) were formerly referred to as the Roman path. Become more cautious today because it is difficult to date street buildings. What is certain is that the pass over the Obere Hauenstein was already intensively used in Roman times. However, it probably only dates back to the years 1711/12 in its visible form. Mountain biking

Formerly the shortest route between Aventicum and Agusta Raurica. Today you can still see the old paved street with cart gutters on a section of the Roman path. There are currently also outdoor works of art to be admired on the hiking trail between Balsthal and Holderbank. It's worth a visit.
