Best Hikes to Kühlungsborn Pier

Tips

  • The pier in Kühlungsborn is 240 meters long and a popular place for vacationers and anglers. It was inaugurated in 1991.

Very close to the pier you can see the 15 meter high border tower, a witness to the division of Germany. The Kühlungsborn Baltic Sea border tower is the only one open to the public. You can find the opening times of the associated museum here: ostsee- Grenzturm.com.

  • The pier Kühlungsborn was inaugurated on 03.10.1991, making it the first completed bridge since German reunification. It is with its 240 m length a landmark of the city.
From here you have a wonderful view of the Baltic Sea, the beach and the oldest resort in Germany - Heiligendamm.
In the years 2007/08 the pier was completely renovated.
Today it is a popular destination for tourists and is often used by anglers. From the pier you can take the boat to Warnemünde or in the direction of Rerik / Salzhaff.

  • Watch out in the storm: when the wave breaks on the steel, no splash protection will help.
