Thanks to the Emscher conversion, the wastewater will soon finally be taking new paths and we will have a clean river. The centerpiece is the 51 km long sewer from Dortmund to Dinslaken. The new pumping station in Gelsenkirchen is one of three mega-lifting systems and distributes the wastewater to the Bottrop and Dinslaken sewage treatment plants. Awesome performance: eleven pumps convey around 12,800 liters per second 26 meters high.

Very interesting if you know what it is for. You can hear the water, but unfortunately you can't see much except a few fireboards
