The Bruchsal Gate between the suburb (with the market place) and the old town was built in 1774. The eventful history of the city is described in the smaller passage. The Heimatmuseum von Heidelsheim is located in the tower extension. Today a district of Bruchsal.
The oldest traces of settlement in the immediate area date from the year 2000 BC. BC
The origins of Heidelsheim date back to 400 AD at the latest: An Alemannic or Franconian settlement with a grave in the area of today's cemetery.
The city was destroyed several times and had only 50 inhabitants in 1689.
    To arouse your interest:
An on-site exploration is worthwhile. Take some time for it.
