At the highest point of the city Lindenfels you will find the amazingly well-preserved castle ruins. The stone castle has existed since 1123, although it was significantly expanded in the following centuries. Although the castle changed owners over and over again in warlike conflicts, their decline did not begin until the 18th century. Thirty years ago, first measures were finally taken to preserve the state of the castle. Especially worthwhile is the phenomenal view from the castle wall.
