Aggenstein

The Aggenstein is, especially in the summer months, a well-traveled mountain with a great all-round view. Therefore, climbing is recommended very early or late in the season. Around the Bad Kissingen hut and on the last meters to the summit there are a lot of chamois.

Starting point (south route): Wanderparkplatz "Enge", shortly after Grän in the direction of Pfronten (chargeable).
Refreshments: Bad Kissinger hut (dav-kg.de/bad-kissinger-huette) with accommodation.

From the Bad Kissinger Hütte turn left up the hill to Aggenstein. From up there you have a wonderful boundless view.

Very accessible mountain. In the summit ascent offers easy climbing passages, otherwise normal hiking trail in the rise. Starting point for panoramic high-altitude tours towards Gamskopf and Sebenspitze.

The view from here is just great. Steel cables are attached to the last piece for support. Sturdy shoes, sure-footedness and a head for heights are an absolute must. Sticks are helpful a little further down.

Easily accessible summit from the Enge car park (Tannheimer Tal) (4km), varied terrain, refreshment stops, beautiful panoramic views. Simply a classic that you have to have made.

Magnificent panoramic view, north to the Breitenberg and the Alpine foothills and south to the Allgäu main Alps with the distinctive high bird.

Super all-round visibility. Very little going on early in the morning during the week.

From the Aggenstein you have a wonderful all-round view of the mountains. Since the Aggenstein is often overcrowded in summer, it is advisable to hike very early or late in the season or in winter with moderate snow depths. At this time of year I appreciate the northwest route, which stays in the shade all day and therefore the snow conditions remain more constant. However, there are sometimes higher snow drifts and there are hardly any path markings visible when there is snow. In the Engetal you can park for free shortly before the border with Austria 2 (1 x at the toboggan run from the Breitenberg and 1 x a hiking parking lot 400m beforehand)

When wet, be careful, the rock is like soft soap. Today mass storm, nevertheless always touch the rope, the ascent has it in itself and can be dangerous.

You should be up early, otherwise it will be full.

Experienced mountaineers will hardly need the rope. But especially children should stay on the rope, possibly also use a via ferrata set.
