Best Mountain Biking Routes to Roters Oak

Tips

  • The Rotereiche stands almost directly on the street between Blankenrode and Hardehausen. The oak was named in honor of the forester Roters because a memorial stone at the foot of its trunk reminds of this forester. It is approximately 350 years old, 35 meters high and has a trunk circumference of 4.75 meters.

There is also a sign directly below the oak tree with information about the neighboring Schwarzbach valley and a small hiking car park. Therefore, this point is also a good starting point for tours in the area.

A little further south is the Roters Eiche hut. A beautiful single trail starts right at the hut, which runs parallel to the forest path and flows back into it after a few 100 meters.
