The Gernkogel is one of the most flower-rich mountains in Austria. As the local mountain of the municipality of Wald im Pinzgau, it rises to 2,267 meters above the Trattenbachtal in the Hohe Tauern National Park. On the way to the summit, you hike over lush alpine pastures and flowering, species-rich mountain meadows. At the summit cross, an incomparable alpine panorama of the Zillertal and Kitzbühel Alps awaits you. In good weather, the view even extends as far as the Leogang and Lofer Steinberge.
