One of 26 ponds of the Wermsdorf pond management that were artificially created for the purpose of fish farming. The influential feudal lords from Starschedel zu Mutzschen are considered to be the clients. About 500 years ago, they had dams in the lowlands where the water dammed up. The ponds were first mentioned in a loan letter in 1533.
