Mountain biking
An offroad alternative to Bygrave Road, a very good trail, heading east it starts with a long climb and you're rewarded with a great descent past the airfield.

A farmhouse track, leading to a mixture of field-edge bridleway and gravel tracks. You'll be OK on a gravel bike or MTB, best avoided on road bikes.
The bridleway can be rutted in places during summer, and very sloppy during winter!

Cycling
I used this a lot to head out towards Ashwell, great descent past the air strip at Newham, caution required on the left hand gravel bends but can be taken fast with skill.
