Justice Councilor Humbroich was a significant figure in the history of nature conservation in the Siebengebirge. In the 1880s, he actively campaigned against the destruction caused by a large quarry on the Rhine side of the Petersberg. His commitment contributed significantly to preserving the Siebengebirge as a nature reserve.
Today, the Siebengebirge is a popular destination for nature lovers and hikers. There are even places and hiking trails named after him, such as Humbroich Square.
