The historic bascule bridge from 1887 is still in operation today.

The bridge was built in 1887 according to the Dutch model. It is 55.1 m long, 7.5 m wide and has a ship's passage width of 10.7 m

This old bridge is still operated by hand. I once had the opportunity to witness it. It was interesting to watch. Nearby the fish sandwiches taste very delicious.

Bicycles and pedestrians can easily cross the bridge. For cars, the special permit applies. The bridge connects the districts Wieck and Eldena

I was once allowed to experience how this bridge is still operated by hand. A little experience. There by the water and the nearby lighthouse it is very nice and the fish sandwiches taste very delicious;) Nearby there is a guarded beach, where you can cool down in the summer time.
