In 1935, a mineral-rich spring was discovered in the community, which also contains small amounts of radium. Mr. Arno Tröger became aware of the spring. He noticed that the water never froze over at this spring, even in a harsh winter. The spring led to a fairly extensive tourism industry in Obercrinitz. The healing power of the Obercrinitz spring water was praised beyond the country's borders. The water is not drinkable.
