The exact origin of the church cannot be determined. Some historians believe it was built around 1181. However, according to tradition, the Counts ofstättenecke were the builders of the church, although they do not appear until the second half of the 13th century. It is first documented in a surviving indulgence dated August 18, 1283.

Hiking

One of the oldest churches in the area, very beautiful in the motif of the mountains with Sasso Lungo and Sassopiatto, was unfortunately closed. There is also something for hikers who have been on the road for a long time: there is a toilet in the small outbuilding 😎.
