The Treppenhauer (obsolete also Trappenauer1) is a 351 m high mountain height southwest of Sachsenburg, a district of the city of Frankenberg in Saxony. At an early stage on him intensive mining on silver and copper, which in the 13./14. Century led to the formation of the now desolate mountain town of Bleiberg.
