Apold, formerly Trapold, Apoldu, (in the dialect of Sultan Pult, in German Trapold, Trappold, Trapolden in Hungarian Apold) is the residence village of the commune of the same name in Mures County, Transylvania, Romania.
The settlement at Apold existed before the Saxon settlers came. The Apold locality made its first documentary appearance in a document from 1309, the year when Nikolaus de Apoldia was among those who sued the bishop of Alba Iulia.

Cycling

The outer ring walls and three defense towers have been preserved from the fortifications of the 15th and 16th centuries. The inner wall was demolished in the 19th century, but is clearly visible from the exposed foundations. Inside the church, the neoclassical organ altar from 1821 and a Gothic sacrament niche are noteworthy. The pulpit and gallery date from 1760.
