Since the first church had become too small due to the brisk building activity in Heidkamp, construction of a new church on the opposite side of the street began in 1958. The architect was Erwin Schiffer. On April 20, 1958, the groundbreaking ceremony took place on the property purchased from the city of Bergisch Gladbach. The consecration of the church took place on April 3, 1960 by the auxiliary bishop of Cologne, Wilhelm Cleven. The church room can accommodate 450 people. The massive-looking building gets its special touch from the large quarry stones from Lindlar greywacke used.
