Bahntrassenweg. good to drive (except Sundays when it's all late). from Lammersdorf, however, a few kilometers of paved sand-splinter path ..... not so great for racing bikes

The section with split from Lamersdorf can be avoided by an alternative route. To do this, drive from Lamersdorf in the direction of Paustenbach and then follow the route highlight "spurt route flat" noted there. At the end of this section of the route, turn left into Blumgasse until you cross Trierer Strasse at Entenpuhl to get back on the Vennbahn route.
