The long drive was worth it. The forest road from Rothe Kreuz to Dedendorn is stunningly beautiful. Car-free, smooth asphalt, and plenty of nature.
The stopover in Monschau was also lovely, but the steep climb from Monschau to Heidgen is quite demanding: 1.4 km long and with an 18% gradient in places.
